Welcome to Ammara Dance Company, the rhythm of the heart of New Westminster! Home to the one of the finest groups of Middle Eastern, Indian, Cuban, African and Brazilian dance and drum professionals in Vancouver and Lower Mainland. Specializing in Belly Dance, Ammara Dance offers a variety of dance, drumming and Yoga classes for all levels. Class sizes are limited to ensure one-on-one attention from teachers. All teachers at Ammara are performing professionals who also have professional training as teachers.

CUBAN DANCE: Ramses is keeping the summer sizzle in the Fall session of Cuban Dance! All Levels, beginners welcome! Open to men and women, no partner required! Learn moves from a variety of Cuban dances like Casino-Salsa, Afro-Cuban folkloric dances, Cha Cha, Mambo, and that saucy sassy Bachata! The workout that doesn't feel like work! CAPOEIRA: This traditional martial art form built on a foundation of resistance and resilience combines dance, percussion, song, ritual, fighting techniques, and acrobatics. A reflection of Brazilian culture and spiritual cultural diversity - and most certainly a workout! Improves strength, stamina, co-ordination and confidence. ALA NAR AND M.E.D.A. PRESENT: SABURA! Veil and Drum Workshop
Sunday, October 3, 12pm - 3pm
Russian Hall, 600 Campbell St, Vancouver

Known for her mesmerizing veil work, Sabura will help you learn how to make your veil breathe, suspend, and dance with you, transforming music into movement. In this workshop, we'll cover veil tips, technique, moves, and transitions, culminating in elegant combinations to different types and tempos of music. In the second half of the workshop, we will work with the drum solo utilizing the "shapes" of the rhythm and melody to create sassy and unique combos and accents.
